Fresh Tissue Dissection Laboratory

Highly Acclaimed Human Anatomy Educational Research

Dr. Acland is the Director of the Fresh Tissue Dissection Laboratory at the Price Institute of Surgical Research. He is the highly acclaimed author of "Video Atlas of Human Anatomy." Dr. Acland works toward improving the methods for teaching human anatomy to students and practicing physicians by using three dimensional camera techniques. He facilitates and advises on all research and teaching projects proposed by students, residents, and faculty in all clinical departments at the School of Medicine. All projects in the Fresh Tissue Dissection Laboratory involve dissection on minimally embalmed human cadaveric specimens and include individual and group learning sessions, televised demonstrations, morphometric research, and development of new procedures, approaches and devices.
